Barber Joyce
My name is Joyce Kruithof, 33 years old, married and mother of 3 children. The world of barbers and barber shops has always fascinated me. My journey began at the age of 16, when I first entered the barbering world. At age 24, I started working in a barbershop, and that's where I really felt at home. It was here that I discovered my passion for working with clippers and was nicknamed the "Queen of Fades.
Building your own 'shed'
With the years of experience I gained, I began to think about starting my own business. Clients and fellow barbers encouraged me, and I was even approached by barber brands for collaborations. The idea of starting for myself became more and more appealing. I wanted my clients to say, "I was cut by Joyce," with my own name and my own business. When I turned 30, I decided to take on the challenge.
The original plan was to open my own premises, but then came the COVID-19 pandemic. With many businesses having to close, I was afraid to invest in my own premises. Therefore, the idea arose to build my own "shed" in my garden: a place where people feel right at home, with a nice atmosphere and, of course, a good haircut, all while enjoying a cup of coffee. Meanwhile, I am an ambassador for Wahl hair clippers and work with KapR and Depot brand products.
I was looking for a kind of simple "childlike" system
What I am not good at at all myself is keeping track of all the appointments with pen and paper. I was looking for a simple online appointment system that also works well for a sole proprietorship. I found an accountant and through him I came into contact with Aimy, where I received a good and clear explanation. I myself am not at all handy with all that computer work. So I was looking for a kind of simple "childlike" system where I knew what to do, and that's it, haha!
'It's great that Aimy is available 24/7, and even if you can't figure something out, they solve it for you. I'm really very happy with them!
