The genesis of Kei sharp
As a young boy, Joep always sat at the hairdresser's full of interest. This was it for him, this was what he wanted to do. Yet he took a different path. He began studying marketing and communications, but dropped out with an unprecedented score of 78% unauthorized absence. He then landed a job in construction as an electrician, but after a year he realized that this too was not his calling. Looking for a new challenge, he became a sales specialist at a clothing store. He started as an intern and ended up as an assistant manager. In 2015-2016, he decided to step out of his comfort zone. He switched to barbering and started Kei Sharp in 2017. No idea what to expect, but it eventually grew into a serious business. Kei Sharp has become more than just a service. It is a barber-training company, a course provider, its own hair and beard product line as well as a clothing brand. On May 1, 2022, they even opened a second branch of Kei Scherp in Eindhoven, run by his associate Tim!
When it is Tim's turn for a haircut, it is often done by Joep. During those haircuts, they often talk about their future plans and great ideas arise. After 3 years of traveling from Eindhoven to Oss and back, Tim started to get a little tired of that, but he didn't want to leave Kei Sharp. During one of their haircuts, Tim asked Joep what he thought about the idea of working together. After the Kei Scherp Academy and the Kei Scherp clothing line, Joep also thought it was time for more. Six months, a few business plans and some haircuts later, a building in the Stadspoort became available. Hartje centrum, that had to be it! The real estate agent was called and the viewing was scheduled. It soon became apparent that this spot was perfect for the second Kei Scherp branch.
What sets us apart from other barbershops is that nothing is too crazy. We are working every day with our passion for the craft and making sure the customer feels at home from start to finish. The barbershop where every day feels like Friday.
Before we had switched to Aimy, we already had an online booking system. When we switched to Aimy, everything became much easier. Reminders via WhatsApp, no other booking system has that. Let's face it, who even looks at text messages anymore? Besides being a cheaper option, you also reach a lot more people with it. Furthermore, it is a very user-friendly system and if I have questions, I can always ask them and they are answered quickly.
'The feature that has the biggest impact on our daily salon management is the automatic rescheduling of clients. Because a fuller schedule means more time spent with our passion. And the WhatsApp integration? We really can't live without that anymore.'
